Imam Bukhari : 514حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُقَاتِلٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَوْفٌ عَنْ سَيَّارِ بْنِ سَلَامَةَ قَالَدَخَلْتُ أَنَا وَأَبِي عَلَى أَبِي بَرْزَةَ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ فَقَالَ لَهُ أَبِي كَيْفَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي الْمَكْتُوبَةَ فَقَالَ كَانَ يُصَلِّي الْهَجِيرَ الَّتِي تَدْعُونَهَا الْأُولَى حِينَ تَدْحَضُ الشَّمْسُ وَيُصَلِّي الْعَصْرَ ثُمَّ يَرْجِعُ أَحَدُنَا إِلَى رَحْلِهِ فِي أَقْصَى الْمَدِينَةِ وَالشَّمْسُ حَيَّةٌ وَنَسِيتُ مَا قَالَ فِي الْمَغْرِبِ وَكَانَ يَسْتَحِبُّ أَنْ يُؤَخِّرَ الْعِشَاءَ الَّتِي تَدْعُونَهَا الْعَتَمَةَ وَكَانَ يَكْرَهُ النَّوْمَ قَبْلَهَا وَالْحَدِيثَ بَعْدَهَا وَكَانَ يَنْفَتِلُ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْغَدَاةِ حِينَ يَعْرِفُ الرَّجُلُ جَلِيسَهُ وَيَقْرَأُ بِالسِّتِّينَ إِلَى الْمِائَةِ
Narrated to us Muhammad bin Muqatil, he Sa'd informed us Abdullah, he Sa'd informed us Auf from Sayyar bin Salamah, he said: 'My father and I visited Abu Barzah Al Aslami. My father asked him: "How did the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, perform the obligatory prayers?" He replied: "He performed the midday prayer, which you call the first, when the sun had slipped. He performed Asr, and one of us could return to his mount at the farthest part of Medina while the sun was still radiant. I forgot what he Sa'dabout Maghrib. He preferred to delay Isha, which you call atmah, and disliked sleeping before it or talking after it. He performed the morning prayer when a man could recognize his neighbor, reciting sixty to one hundred verses."'
