Narrated by Muhammad bin Ash Shabbah and Ahmad bin Sinan, from Ishaq bin Yusuf Al Azraq, from Sufyan; and Ali bin Maimun Ar Raqqi, from Makhlad bin Yazid, from Sufyan, from Alqamah bin Martsad, from Sulaiman bin Buraidah, from his father, who said: A man asked the Prophet (peace be upon him) about prayer times. He said: 'Pray with us these two days.' When the sun declined, he ordered Bilal to call the adhan, then perform iqamah for Zuhr. He ordered iqamah for Asr while the sun was high and clear, for Maghrib when the sun set, for Isha when the twilight vanished, and for Fajr at dawn. On the second day, he ordered adhan for Zuhr when it was cooler, prayed Asr later while the sun was high, Maghrib before the twilight vanished, Isha after a third of the night, and Fajr when it was bright. He said: 'Where is the questioner about prayer times?' The man said: 'Here, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'Your prayer times are between what you witnessed.'
