Imam Abu Dawud : 336حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو وَهُوَ ابْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ قَالَسَأَلْنَا جَابِرًا عَنْ وَقْتِ صَلَاةِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ كَانَ يُصَلِّي الظُّهْرَ بِالْهَاجِرَةِ وَالْعَصْرَ وَالشَّمْسُ حَيَّةٌ وَالْمَغْرِبَ إِذَا غَرَبَتْ الشَّمْسُ وَالْعِشَاءَ إِذَا كَثُرَ النَّاسُ عَجَّلَ وَإِذَا قَلُّوا أَخَّرَ وَالصُّبْحَ بِغَلَسٍ
Narrated to us [Muslim bin Ibrahim], narrated to us [Syu'bah] from [Sa'd bin Ibrahim] from [Muhammad bin Amru, i.e., Ibnu Al-Hasan bin Ali bin Abu Thalib], he said: We asked [Jabir] about the Prophet’s prayer times, peace be upon him. He said: He prayed Zuhr when the sun was scorching, Asr when the sun was bright, Maghrib when the sun set, Isha hastened when many gathered or delayed when few, and Subh at ghalas (dawn’s dark-light mix).
