Imam Ahmad : 14441حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ قَدِمَ الْحَجَّاجُ الْمَدِينَةَ فَسَأَلْنَا جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي الظُّهْرَ بِالْهَاجِرَةِ وَالْعَصْرَ وَالشَّمْسُ نَقِيَّةٌ وَالْمَغْرِبَ إِذَا وَجَبَتْ وَالْعِشَاءَ أَحْيَانًا يُؤَخِّرُهَا وَأَحْيَانًا يُعَجِّلُ وَكَانَ إِذَا رَآهُمْ قَدْ اجْتَمَعُوا عَجَّلَ وَإِذَا رَآهُمْ قَدْ أَبْطَئُوا أَخَّرَ وَالصُّبْحَ قَالَ كَانُوا أَوْ قَالَ كَانَ يُصَلِّيهَا بِغَلَسٍ
Narrated to us [Muhammad bin Ja'far] Narrated to us [Syu'bah] from [Sa'id Bin Ibrahim] from [Muhammad bin 'Amr bin Al Hasan bin 'Ali] said: Al Hajjaj arrived in Medina, then we asked [Jabir bin Abdullah] he said: The Messenger of Allah peace and blessings be upon him prayed midday prayers in the middle of the afternoon when the sun was hot, afternoon prayers when the sun was clear, maghrib when the sun was setting, and evening prayer sometimes ended it and sometimes also hastened it. If he saw that they had gathered (The Messenger of Allah peace and blessings be upon him) hastened it, if he saw that they were late then stopped it. (Jabir bin Abdullah radliyallahu'anhuma) said: Fajr is what the Prophet peace and blessings be upon him did at the end of the night when it wasStill dark.
