حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عُرْوَةُ أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَدَّثَتْهُ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هَلْ أَتَى عَلَيْكَ يَوْمٌ كَانَ أَشَدَّ مِنْ يَوْمِ أُحُدٍ قَالَ لَقَدْ لَقِيتُ مِنْ قَوْمِكِ مَا لَقِيتُ وَكَانَ أَشَدَّ مَا لَقِيتُ مِنْهُمْ يَوْمَ الْعَقَبَةِ إِذْ عَرَضْتُ نَفْسِي عَلَى ابْنِ عَبْدِ يَالِيلَ بْنِ عَبْدِ كُلَالٍ فَلَمْ يُجِبْنِي إِلَى مَا أَرَدْتُ فَانْطَلَقْتُ وَأَنَا مَهْمُومٌ عَلَى وَجْهِي فَلَمْ أَسْتَفِقْ إِلَّا وَأَنَا بِقَرْنِ الثَّعَالِبِ فَرَفَعْتُ رَأْسِي فَإِذَا أَنَا بِسَحَابَةٍ قَدْ أَظَلَّتْنِي فَنَظَرْتُ فَإِذَا فِيهَا جِبْرِيلُ فَنَادَانِي فَقَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ سَمِعَ قَوْلَ قَوْمِكَ لَكَ وَمَا رَدُّوا عَلَيْكَ وَقَدْ بَعَثَ إِلَيْكَ مَلَكَ الْجِبَالِ لِتَأْمُرَهُ بِمَا شِئْتَ فِيهِمْ فَنَادَانِي مَلَكُ الْجِبَالِ فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيَّ ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ فَقَالَ ذَلِكَ فِيمَا شِئْتَ إِنْ شِئْتَ أَنْ أُطْبِقَ عَلَيْهِمْ الْأَخْشَبَيْنِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَلْ أَرْجُو أَنْ يُخْرِجَ اللَّهُ مِنْ أَصْلَابِهِمْ مَنْ يَعْبُدُ اللَّهَ وَحْدَهُ لَا يُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئًا
Narrated to us ['Abdullah bin Yusuf] informed us [Ibnu Wahb] Sa'dinformed me [Yunus] from [Ibnu Syihab] Sa'dnarrated to me ['Urwah] that ['Aisyah, may Allah be pleased with her], the wife of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, narrated to him that she Sa'dto the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: 'Have you ever experienced a day harder than the day of Uhud?' He replied: 'I have faced many things from your people. The hardest I faced from them was the day of Al-'Aqabah, when I offered myself to Ibnu 'Abdi Yalil bin 'Abdu Kulal to support me, but he did not fulfill my wish, so I left with a troubled face and did not calm down until I was at Qarnu ats-Tsa'aalib (Qarnu al-Manazil). I looked up, and there was a cloud shading me. I looked, and there was Gabriel in it, who called me and said: "Indeed, Allah has heard your people's words to you and what they inflicted on you. Allah has sent the angel of the mountains to you to command him as you wish regarding them." The angel of the mountains called out and greeted me, then said: "O Muhammad," and said: "Say what you want. If you wish, I will collapse the two mountains on them." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "No. Rather, I hope Allah will bring forth from their descendants those who worship Allah alone and do not associate anything with Him."'
