Narrated to us [Ubaid bin Isma'il] narrated to us [Abu Usamah] from [Hisyam] from [his father] from [Aishah] who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, loved sweets and honey. After performing the Asr prayer, he would visit his wives and approach them. Once, he visited Hafsah and stayed with her longer than usual. I asked about it, and he said, 'A woman from her people gifted her a jar of honey, and she offered the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, a drink from it.' I said, 'By Allah, we will trick him.' I told Saudah, 'When he visits you and approaches you, say, O Messenger of Allah, have you eaten maghafir?" He will say, "No." Then say, "What is this smell?" For the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, disliked having an unpleasant odor from him. He will say, "Hafsah gave me a drink of honey." Then say, "Its bees must have fed on urfut." I will say the same, and you, Safiyyah, say it too.' When he visited Saudah, she said, 'By the One besides whom there is no god, I nearly spoke to him as you instructed while he was at the door, out of fear of you.' When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, approached, I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, have you eaten maghafir?' He said, 'No.' I said, 'What is this smell?' He said, 'Hafsah gave me a drink of honey.' I said, 'Its bees must have fed on urfut.' When he visited me, I said the same. When he visited Safiyyah, she said the same. When he returned to Hafsah, she said, 'O Messenger of Allah, shall I give you more of it?' He said, 'I have no need for it.' Saudah said, 'By Allah, we have deprived him of it.' I told her, 'Be quiet!'"
