Sesungguhnya imam dijadikan untuk diikuti, apabila dia rukuk maka rukuklah, bila dia mengangkat kepalanya maka angkatlah kepala

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَخَرَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ فَرَسٍ فَجُحِشَ فَصَلَّى بِنَا قَاعِدًا فَصَلَّيْنَا مَعَهُ قُعُودًا ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ فَقَالَ إِنَّمَا الْإِمَامُ أَوْ إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ الْإِمَامُ لِيُؤْتَمَّ بِهِ فَإِذَا كَبَّرَ فَكَبِّرُوا وَإِذَا رَكَعَ فَارْكَعُوا وَإِذَا رَفَعَ فَارْفَعُوا وَإِذَا قَالَ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ فَقُولُوا رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَإِذَا سَجَدَ فَاسْجُدُوا وَإِذَا صَلَّى قَاعِدًا فَصَلُّوا قُعُودًا أَجْمَعُونَقَالَ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ عَائِشَةَ وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَجَابِرٍ وَابْنِ عُمَرَ وَمُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَحَدِيثُ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَّ عَنْ فَرَسٍ فَجُحِشَ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَقَدْ ذَهَبَ بَعْضُ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ مِنْهُمْ جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَأُسَيْدُ بْنُ حُضَيْرٍ وَأَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ وَغَيْرُهُمْ وَبِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ يَقُولُ أَحْمَدُ وَإِسْحَقُ و قَالَ بَعْضُ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ إِذَا صَلَّى الْإِمَامُ جَالِسًا لَمْ يُصَلِّ مَنْ خَلْفَهُ إِلَّا قِيَامًا فَإِنْ صَلَّوْا قُعُودًا لَمْ تُجْزِهِمْ وَهُوَ قَوْلُ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ وَمَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ وَابْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ وَالشَّافِعِيِّ

Narrated to us [Qutaibah], he said: narrated to us [Al Laits] from [Ibnu Syihab] from [Anas bin Malik] that he said: "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, fell from his horse and was injured. Then he prayed sitting with them. After that he stood and said: 'The imam is only, or he said: 'The imam is made to be followed, if he says takbir then say takbir, if he bows then bow, if he raises his head then raise your heads, if he says: SAMI'AALLAHU LIMAN HAMIDAHU (may Allah hear the one who praises Him) then say: RABBANA WA LAKAL HAMDU (Our Lord, and to You is the praise), if he prostrates then prostrate, and if he prays sitting then all of you pray sitting.'" He said: "In this chapter there is also a narration from 'Aisyah, Abu Hurairah, Jabir, Ibnu Umar, and Mu'awiyah." Abu Isa said: "The hadith of Anas mentioning that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, fell and was injured is hasan sahih. Some scholars from the companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, hold to this hadith. Among them are Jabir bin Abdullah, Usaid bin Hudlair, Abu Hurairah, and others. Ahmad and Ishaq also hold to this hadith. And some scholars say: 'If the imam prays sitting, those behind him do not pray except standing, if they pray sitting their prayer is invalid.' This is the opinion taken by Sufyan Ats Tsauri, Malik bin Anas, bin Al Mubarak, and Syafi'i."
