Sesungguhnya imam dijadikan untuk diikuti, apabila dia rukuk maka rukuklah, bila dia mengangkat kepalanya maka angkatlah kepala
Imam Abu Dawud : 512

Narrated by [Al-Qa'nabi] from [Malik] from[Hisham bin Urwah] from his [father] from [Aisyah], the wife of the Prophet (peace be upon him), she said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) prayed in his house while sitting, and people prayed behind him standing. He signaled to them to sit. When he finished, he said: 'The imam is appointed only to be followed. When he bows, you bow; when he rises, you rise; and when he prays sitting, you pray sitting.' Narrated by [Qutaibah bin Sa'id] and [Yazid bin Khalid bin Mauhib] with the same meaning, that [Al-Lait]s narrated to them from Abu [Az-Zubair] from [Jabir], he said: The Prophet (peace be upon him) was ill, so we prayed behind him while he was sitting, and Abu Bakr recited the takbir to make his takbir audible to the people, then he continued the Hadith in full.
