The prayer of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), which you will not be able to perform

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَقَ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ ضَمْرَةَ قَالَسَأَلْنَا عَلِيًّا عَنْ صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ النَّهَارِ فَقَالَ إِنَّكُمْ لَا تُطِيقُونَ ذَاكَ فَقُلْنَا مَنْ أَطَاقَ ذَاكَ مِنَّا فَقَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا كَانَتْ الشَّمْسُ مِنْ هَاهُنَا كَهَيْئَتِهَا مِنْ هَاهُنَا عِنْدَ الْعَصْرِ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَإِذَا كَانَتْ الشَّمْسُ مِنْ هَاهُنَا كَهَيْئَتِهَا مِنْ هَاهُنَا عِنْدَ الظُّهْرِ صَلَّى أَرْبَعًا وَصَلَّى أَرْبَعًا قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ وَبَعْدَهَا رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَقَبْلَ الْعَصْرِ أَرْبَعًا يَفْصِلُ بَيْنَ كُلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ بِالتَّسْلِيمِ عَلَى الْمَلَائِكَةِ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ وَالنَّبِيِّينَ وَالْمُرْسَلِينَ وَمَنْ تَبِعَهُمْ مِنْ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُسْلِمِينَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَقَ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ ضَمْرَةَ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَحْوَهُ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ و قَالَ إِسْحَقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَحْسَنُ شَيْءٍ رُوِيَ فِي تَطَوُّعِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي النَّهَارِ هَذَا وَرُوِي عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُضَعِّفُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ وَإِنَّمَا ضَعَّفَهُ عِنْدَنَا وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ لِأَنَّهُ لَا يُرْوَى مِثْلُ هَذَا عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ ضَمْرَةَ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ وَعَاصِمُ بْنُ ضَمْرَةَ هُوَ ثِقَةٌ عِنْدَ بَعْضِ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ قَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ قَالَ يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْقَطَّانُ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ كُنَّا نَعْرِفُ فَضْلَ حَدِيثِ عَاصِمِ بْنِ ضَمْرَةَ عَلَى حَدِيثِ الْحَارِثِ

Narrated to us [Mahmud bin Ghailan], narrated to us [Wahb bin Jarir], narrated to us [Syu'bah] from [Abu Ishaq] from ['Ashim bin Dlamrah], he said, we asked [Ali] about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, during the day?, he answered, indeed you are not able to do it, we asked, then who among us can do it? He answered, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, when the sun rises from the east like the time it sets at Asr he prayed two rak'ahs, and when the sun rises from the east at Dhuhr time four rak'ahs then four rak'ahs before Dhuhr prayer, after it two rak'ahs then four rak'ahs before Asr, every after two rak'ahs always saying salam to the close angels, the Prophets and messengers and whoever follows their path from the believers and Muslims. Narrated to us [Muhammad bin Al Mutsanna], narrated to us [Muhammad bin Ja'far], narrated to us [Syu'bah] from [Abi Ishaq] from ['Ashim bin Dlamrah] from [Ali] from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, like the above hadith. Abu 'Isa said, this is a hasan hadith. Ishaq bin Ibrahim said, this is the best hadith speaking about the tathawwu' (voluntary prayer) of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, during the day. Narrated from Abdullah bin Mubarak, that he weakened this hadith, that is because -wallahu 'alam- because this hadith is only narrated through this path namely from 'Ashim bin Dlamrah from Ali, even though 'Ashim bin Dlamrah is a trustworthy person according to some people of knowledge. Ali bin Al Madini said, Yahya bin Sa'id Al Qaththan said, Sufyan said, we know the hadith of 'Ashim bin Dlamrah is better than the hadith of Harits.
