Imam Ahmad : 15426قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْعَثِ الصَّنْعَانِيِّ عَنْ رَاشِدِ بْنِ حُبَيْشٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ عَلَى عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ يَعُودُهُ فِي مَرَضِهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَتَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ الشَّهِيدُ مِنْ أُمَّتِي فَأَرَمَّ الْقَوْمُ فَقَالَ عُبَادَةُ سَانِدُونِي فَأَسْنَدُوهُ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ الصَّابِرُ الْمُحْتَسِبُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ شُهَدَاءَ أُمَّتِي إِذًا لَقَلِيلٌ الْقَتْلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ شَهَادَةٌ وَالطَّاعُونُ شَهَادَةٌ وَالْغَرَقُ شَهَادَةٌ وَالْبَطْنُ شَهَادَةٌ وَالنُّفَسَاءُ يَجُرُّهَا وَلَدُهَا بِسُرَرِهِ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ قَالَ وَزَادَ فِيهَا أَبُو الْعَوَّامِ سَادِنُ بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ وَالْحَرْقُ وَالسَّيْلُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ صَاحِبٍ لَهُ عَنْ رَاشِدِ بْنِ حُبَيْشٍ عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَتَاهُ يَعُودُهُ فِي مَرَضِهِ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ
Narrated to us [Muhammad bin Bakr] said: Narrated to us [Sa'id bin Abu 'Arubah] from [Qatadah] from [Muslim bin Yasar] from [Abu Al Asy'ats, Ash-Shan'ani] from [Rashid bin Hubais], The Messenger of Allah peace and blessings be upon him met 'Ubadah bin Shamit to visit him when he was sick. The Messenger of Allah peace and blessings be upon him said: "Do you know who is called a martyr among my people?" Everyone fell silent. 'Ubadah said: "Lean on me," they leaned on him. Then Ubadah said: "O Messenger of Allah, what is called a martyr is a patient person who expects a reward from Allah." The Messenger of Allah peace and blessings be upon him said: "Then the people who are martyred from my ummah are very few, even though people who are killed in the way of Allah The Mighty and Majestic are martyrs, people who die from Thaun are martyrs, people who drown are martyrs, people who die from stomach ailments are martyrs, women who die because they give birth to their children, their children pull them by the umbilical cord to enter heaven." [Abu Al 'Awwam], the administrator of Baitul Maqdis, added, "People who died because they were burned, and who died because they were dragged down by the river.Narrated to us [Abdusshamad] Narrated to us [Hammad] from [Qatadah] from [his friend] from [Rasyid bin Hubais] from ['Ubadah bin Shamit] The Messenger of Allah peace and blessings be upon him visited him when he was sick, then mentioned the hadith.
