حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ كُلُّهُمْ عَنْ أَبِي مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ يَحْيَى أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ كُنْتُ أَمْشِي مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي حَرَّةِ الْمَدِينَةِ عِشَاءً وَنَحْنُ نَنْظُرُ إِلَى أُحُدٍ فَقَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ قَالَ قُلْتُ لَبَّيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ مَا أُحِبُّ أَنَّ أُحُدًا ذَاكَ عِنْدِي ذَهَبٌ أَمْسَى ثَالِثَةً عِنْدِي مِنْهُ دِينَارٌ إِلَّا دِينَارًا أَرْصُدُهُ لِدَيْنٍ إِلَّا أَنْ أَقُولَ بِهِ فِي عِبَادِ اللَّهِ هَكَذَا حَثَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَهَكَذَا عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَهَكَذَا عَنْ شِمَالِهِ قَالَ ثُمَّ مَشَيْنَا فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ قَالَ قُلْتُ لَبَّيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ إِنَّ الْأَكْثَرِينَ هُمْ الْأَقَلُّونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِلَّا مَنْ قَالَ هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا مِثْلَ مَا صَنَعَ فِي الْمَرَّةِ الْأُولَى قَالَ ثُمَّ مَشَيْنَا قَالَ يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ كَمَا أَنْتَ حَتَّى آتِيَكَ قَالَ فَانْطَلَقَ حَتَّى تَوَارَى عَنِّي قَالَ سَمِعْتُ لَغَطًا وَسَمِعْتُ صَوْتًا قَالَ فَقُلْتُ لَعَلَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عُرِضَ لَهُ قَالَ فَهَمَمْتُ أَنْ أَتَّبِعَهُ قَالَ ثُمَّ ذَكَرْتُ قَوْلَهُ لَا تَبْرَحْ حَتَّى آتِيَكَ قَالَ فَانْتَظَرْتُهُ فَلَمَّا جَاءَ ذَكَرْتُ لَهُ الَّذِي سَمِعْتُ قَالَ فَقَالَ ذَاكَ جِبْرِيلُ أَتَانِي فَقَالَ مَنْ مَاتَ مِنْ أُمَّتِكَ لَا يُشْرِكُ بِاللَّهِ شَيْئًا دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ قَالَ قُلْتُ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ قَالَ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ

Narrated to us by [Yahya bin Yahya] and [Abu Bakr bin Abi Shaibah] and [Ibn Numair] and [Abu Kuraib] all from [Abu Mu'awiyah] - [Yahya] said- has informed us [Abu Mu'awiyah] from [Al A'mash] from [Zaid bin Wahb] from [Abu Dharr] he said At one twilight, I walked with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) on black rocky ground while we looked towards Mount Uhud. Suddenly the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) called me and said: 'O Abu Dharr.' I answered, 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'If Mount Uhud becomes gold for me, then it will not please me, if on the third day that gold still remains in my hand one dinar, except one dinar that I prepare to pay debt. But I will call the servants of Allah, and say to them -while he threw forward, right and left, as if he was distributing.-' While we continued walking, then he called me again: 'O Abu Dharr!' I answered, 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'People who are rich in wealth will become poor on the Day of Judgment, except people who say: This, this (distributing his wealth, as the Prophet did initially).' Then Abu Dharr continued While we continued walking, and suddenly he called me again: 'O Abu Dharr, stay here, until I return.' Then he went until he disappeared from my sight. Not long after, I heard a noisy sound, perhaps the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) got into trouble, I thought. And I intended to follow him. But I remembered his command, do not go anywhere until I return. Therefore, I just waited for him. When he arrived, I told him about the noisy sound I heard. Then he said: 'That is Gabriel, he came to me. Gabriel said, 'Whoever among your ummah dies without associating Allah with anything, surely he will enter paradise.'' The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked: 'Even if he commits adultery and steals?' Gabriel answered, 'Yes, even if he commits adultery and steals.'
