Imam Ahmad : 20524حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي أَنَّ أَبَا مُرَاوِحٍ الْغِفَارِيَّ أخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ أَبَا ذَرٍّ أخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ إِيمَانٌ بِاللَّهِ وَجِهَادٌ فِي سَبِيلِهِ قَالَ فَأَيُّ الرِّقَابِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ أَغْلَاهَا ثَمَنًا وَأَنْفَسُهَا عِنْدَ أَهْلِهَا قَالَ أَفَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ لَمْ أَفْعَلْ قَالَ تُعِينُ صَانِعًا أَوْ تَصْنَعُ لِأَخْرَقَ قَالَ أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ ضَعُفْتُ قَالَ تُمْسِكُ عَنْ الشَّرِّ فَإِنَّهُ صَدَقَةٌ تَصَّدَّقُ بِهَا عَلَى نَفْسِكَ
Narrated to us [Yahya bin Sa'id] Narrated to us [Hisyam] has narrated to me [My father] that [Abu Murrawih Al Ghifari] informed him that [Abu Dzar] informed him, that he once asked the Messenger of Allah Peace be upon him, "O Messenger of Allah, what deed is most excellent?" He said: "Faith in Allah and jihad (struggle) in His way." He asked again, "What kind of slave is most excellent?" He answered: "The most expensive and many benefits for the owner." He asked again, "How if I do not do it (because of not having)?" He answered: "You help the person who is working or a foolish person who cannot work." He asked again, "How if I am weak?" He said: "Distance (yourself) from evil deeds, for that is charity for you.
