Imam Ahmad : 20341حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ يَزِيدَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي زِيَادٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ خَرَجَ إِلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ أَتَدْرُونَ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَالَ قَائِلٌ الصَّلَاةُ وَالزَّكَاةُ وَقَالَ قَائِلٌ الْجِهَادُ قَالَ إِنَّ أَحَبَّ الْأَعْمَالِ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ الْحُبُّ فِي اللَّهِ وَالْبُغْضُ فِي اللَّهِ
Narrated to us [Husain] Narrated to us [Yezid bin Atha`] from [Yezid bin Abu Ziyad] from [Mujahid] from [Someone] from [Abu Dzar] he said, "The Messenger of Allah Peace be upon him came out meeting us then asked: "Do you all know what action is most loved by Allah Mighty and Majestic?" One of the companions answered, "Prayer and zakat." The other answered, "Striving (Jihad)." Then the Prophet Peace be upon him said: "Indeed the action most loved by Allah Mighty and Majestic is love because of Allah and hate because of Allah.
