حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ حَدَّثَنَا ثَوْرُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ الْحِمْيَرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَعْدِ الْخَيْرِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَعَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ اسْتَجْمَرَ فَلْيُوتِرْ مَنْ فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ فَقَدْ أَحْسَنَ وَمَنْ لَا فَلَا حَرَجَ وَمَنْ تَخَلَّلَ فَلْيَلْفِظْ وَمَنْ لَاكَ فَلْيَبْتَلِعْ مَنْ فَعَلَ فَقَدْ أَحْسَنَ وَمَنْ لَا فَلَا حَرَجَ وَمَنْ أَتَى الْخَلَاءَ فَلْيَسْتَتِرْ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ إِلَّا كَثِيبًا مِنْ رَمْلٍ فَلْيَمْدُدْهُ عَلَيْهِ فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَلْعَبُ بِمَقَاعِدِ ابْنِ آدَمَ مَنْ فَعَلَ فَقَدْ أَحْسَنَ وَمَنْ لَا فَلَا حَرَجَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ بِإِسْنَادِهِ نَحْوَهُ وَزَادَ فِيهِ وَمَنْ اكْتَحَلَ فَلْيُوتِرْ مَنْ فَعَلَ فَقَدْ أَحْسَنَ وَمَنْ لَا فَلَا حَرَجَ وَمَنْ لَاكَ فَلْيَبْتَلِعْ

Narrated to us Muhammad bin Basysyar, narrated to us Abdul Malik bin Ash Shabbah, narrated to us Tsaur bin Yazid from Hushain Al Himyari from Abu Sa'id Al Khair from Abu Hurairah from the Prophet shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam, he said: Whoever performs istijmar, let him use an odd number. Whoever does so has done well, and whoever does not, there is no harm. Whoever removes food from between teeth, let him spit it out, and whoever chews, let him swallow. Whoever does so has done well, and whoever does not, there is no harm. Whoever goes to the toilet, let him seek cover. If he finds only a sand mound, let him use it as a barrier, for Satan plays with the seats of Adam's children. Whoever does so has done well, and whoever does not, there is no harm. Narrated to us Abdurrahman bin Umar, narrated to us Abdul Malik bin Ash Shabbah with a similar chain, adding: And whoever applies kohl, let him use an odd number. Whoever does so has done well, and whoever chews, let him swallow.
