حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَأُرْسِلَ مَلَكُ الْمَوْتِ إِلَى مُوسَى عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلَام فَلَمَّا جَاءَهُ صَكَّهُ فَرَجَعَ إِلَى رَبِّهِ فَقَالَ أَرْسَلْتَنِي إِلَى عَبْدٍ لَا يُرِيدُ الْمَوْتَ قَالَ ارْجِعْ إِلَيْهِ فَقُلْ لَهُ يَضَعُ يَدَهُ عَلَى مَتْنِ ثَوْرٍ فَلَهُ بِمَا غَطَّتْ يَدُهُ بِكُلِّ شَعَرَةٍ سَنَةٌ قَالَ أَيْ رَبِّ ثُمَّ مَاذَا قَالَ ثُمَّ الْمَوْتُ قَالَ فَالْآنَ قَالَ فَسَأَلَ اللَّهَ أَنْ يُدْنِيَهُ مِنْ الْأَرْضِ الْمُقَدَّسَةِ رَمْيَةً بِحَجَرٍ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَوْ كُنْتُ ثَمَّ لَأَرَيْتُكُمْ قَبْرَهُ إِلَى جَانِبِ الطَّرِيقِ تَحْتَ الْكَثِيبِ الْأَحْمَرِقَالَ وَأَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ هَمَّامٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَحْوَهُ

Narrated to us [Yahya bin Musa] narrated to us ['Abdur Razzaq] informed us [Ma'mar] from [Ibn Thawus] from [his father] from [Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him] said; "One day, the Angel of Death was sent to Moses (peace be upon him). When he came to him, (Prophet Moses, peace be upon him) struck his eye. The Angel of Death returned to his Lord and said, 'You sent me to a servant who does not want to die.' Allah said, 'Return to him and tell him to place his hand on the back of an ox, and for every hair his hand covers, he will have one year.' Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) asked, 'O Lord, what then?' Allah said, 'Then death.' So Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) said, 'Now is the time.' Then Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) asked Allah to bring him close to the Holy Land within a stone's throw." Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said; Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "If I were there, I would show you his grave beside the road under the red dune." He ('Abdur Razzaq) said; "And narrated to us [Ma'mar] from [Hammam] narrated to us [Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him] from the Prophet (peace be upon him) with the same narration.
