حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّ رَجُلًا زَارَ أَخًا لَهُ فِي قَرْيَةٍ أُخْرَى فَأَرْصَدَ اللَّهُ لَهُ عَلَى مَدْرَجَتِهِ مَلَكًا فَلَمَّا أَتَى عَلَيْهِ قَالَ أَيْنَ تُرِيدُ قَالَ أُرِيدُ أَخًا لِي فِي هَذِهِ الْقَرْيَةِ قَالَ هَلْ لَكَ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ تَرُبُّهَا قَالَ لَا غَيْرَ أَنِّي أَحْبَبْتُهُ فِي اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَالَ فَإِنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ إِلَيْكَ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ أَحَبَّكَ كَمَا أَحْبَبْتَهُ فِيهِ قَالَ الشَّيْخُ أَبُو أَحْمَدَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ زَنْجُويَةَ الْقُشَيْرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ نَحْوَهُ
Narrated to me ['Abdul A'laa bin Hammad] Narrated to us [Hammad bin Salamah] from [Tsabit] from [Abu Rafi'] from [Abu Hurairah] from the Prophet peace be upon him, 'Once there was a man who visited his brother in another village. Then Allah sent an angel to meet that person. When the person was on his way to the village he intended, the angel asked 'Where are you going?' The man answered 'I will visit my brother who is in another village.' The angel continued to ask him 'Do you have a matter that benefits him?' The man answered 'No, I only love him for the sake of Allah Almighty.' Finally, the angel said 'Indeed I am an angelic messenger sent to inform you that Allah will always love you as you love your brother for Allah.' Said Sheikh Abu Ahmad Informed me Abu Bakr Muhammad bin Zanjuyah Al Qusyairi Narrated to us 'Abdul A'laa bin Hammad Narrated to us Hammad bin Salamah through this chain with a similar Hadith.
