حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ وَأَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ وعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ زِرِّ بْنِ حُبَيْشٍ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَعَهِدَ إِلَيَّ النَّبِيُّ الْأُمِّيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّنِي إِلَّا مُؤْمِنٌ وَلَا يُبْغِضُنِي إِلَّا مُنَافِقٌ

Narrated to us by Ali bin Muhammad, he said, narrated to us by Waki’, Abu Mu’awiyah, and Abdullah bin Numair, from Al A’masy, from Adi bin Tsabit, from Zirri bin Hubaisy, from Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: The Prophet, the unlettered (peace and blessings be upon him), gave me a covenant, 'None will love me except a believer, and none will hate me except a hypocrite.'
