Narrated to us [Muhammad bin 'Abbad], narrated to us [Hatim, namely Ibnu Ismail] from [Ya'qub bin Mujahid] from [Ibnu Abi 'Atiq], he said, 'I was talking with al-Qasim beside [Aisyah] (may Allah be pleased with her). Al-Qasim was a man who stammered, being the only child of his mother. [Aisyah] asked him, "Why can you not speak like this nephew of mine?" I know the reason for this issue. This nephew of mine was raised by his mother, while you were raised by your mother.' He said, 'Al-Qasim became angry and annoyed with Aisyah. When he saw Aisyah’s table with food served, he left. Aisyah asked, "Where are you going?" Al-Qasim replied, "I am going to pray." Aisyah said, "Sit down first!" Al-Qasim replied, "I am going to pray." Aisyah said, "Sit down! I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say, 'The prayer of someone is not complete if food is served, or if he is holding back the need to relieve himself or urinate."'' Narrated to us [Yahya bin Ayyub] and [Qutaibah bin Sa'id] and [Ibnu Hujr], they said, narrated to us [Ismail, namely Ibnu Ja'far], informed me [Abu Hazrah al-Qash] from [Abdullah bin Abi 'Atiq] from [Aisyah] (may Allah be pleased with her) from the Prophet (peace be upon him) with a similar hadith, and he did not mention the story of al-Qasim in that hadith.
