حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ وَمَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ بُجْدَانَ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ الصَّعِيدَ الطَّيِّبَ طَهُورُ الْمُسْلِمِ وَإِنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ الْمَاءَ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ فَإِذَا وَجَدَ الْمَاءَ فَلْيُمِسَّهُ بَشَرَتَهُ فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ خَيْرٌو قَالَ مَحْمُودٌ فِي حَدِيثِهِ إِنَّ الصَّعِيدَ الطَّيِّبَ وَضُوءُ الْمُسْلِمِ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو وَعِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَهَكَذَا رَوَى غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ بُجْدَانَ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ وَقَدْ رَوَى هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ أَيُّوبُ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي عَامِرٍ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ وَلَمْ يُسَمِّهِ قَالَ وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَهُوَ قَوْلُ عَامَّةِ الْفُقَهَاءِ أَنَّ الْجُنُبَ وَالْحَائِضَ إِذَا لَمْ يَجِدَا الْمَاءَ تَيَمَّمَا وَصَلَّيَا وَيُرْوَى عَنْ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ أَنَّهُ كَانَ لَا يَرَى التَّيَمُّمَ لِلْجُنُبِ وَإِنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ الْمَاءَ وَيُرْوَى عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ رَجَعَ عَنْ قَوْلِهِ فَقَالَ يَتَيَمَّمُ إِذَا لَمْ يَجِدْ الْمَاءَ وَبِهِ يَقُولُ سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ وَمَالِكٌ وَالشَّافِعِيُّ وَأَحْمَدُ وَإِسْحَقُ

Narrated to us [Muhammad bin Bashshar] and [Mahmud bin Ghaylan] they said: narrated to us [Abu Ahmad Az-Zubairi] he said: narrated to us [Sufyan] from [Khalid Al-Hadzdza’] from [Abu Qilabah] from [‘Amru bin Bujdan] from [Abu Dzar] that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Pure earth is a Muslim’s means of purification even if he finds no water for ten years. When he finds water, let him touch it to his skin—it is better." Mahmud added: "Pure earth is a Muslim’s means of purification." In this chapter there are narrations from Abu Hurairah, ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amru and ‘Imran bin Hushain. Abu Isa said: "More than one narrated from Khalid Al-Hadzdza’ from Abu Qilabah from ‘Amru bin Bujdan from Abu Dzar. Ayyub narrated from Abu Qilabah from a man of Banu ‘Amir from Abu Dzar without naming him." Abu Isa said: "This hadith is hasan sahih. Most fuqaha hold: one in janabah or menstruation who finds no water should perform tayammum and pray. It is narrated from Ibnu Mas‘ud that one in janabah may not perform tayammum even without water, but he later retracted and said: ‘He may not perform tayammum if he finds no water.’ This is the view of Sufyan Ath-Thawri, Malik, Syafi‘i, Ahmad and Ishaq."
