حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ نَجْدَةَ حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ عَنْ ابْنِ ثَوْبَانَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ يَرُدُّ إِلَى مَكْحُولٍ إِلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ غُنْمٍ الْأَشْعَرِيِّ أَنَّ أَبَا مَالِكٍ الْأَشْعَرِيَّ قَالَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ فَصَلَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَمَاتَ أَوْ قُتِلَ فَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ أَوْ وَقَصَهُ فَرَسُهُ أَوْ بَعِيرُهُ أَوْ لَدَغَتْهُ هَامَّةٌ أَوْ مَاتَ عَلَى فِرَاشِهِ أَوْ بِأَيِّ حَتْفٍ شَاءَ اللَّهُ فَإِنَّهُ شَهِيدٌ وَإِنَّ لَهُ الْجَنَّةَ
Narrated to us [Abdul Wahhab bin Najdah], narrated to us [Baqiyyah bin Al Walid], from [Ibnu Tsauban], from his father, tracing to [Makhul], to [Abdurrahman bin Ghunm Al Asy'ari], that [Abu Malik Al Asy'ari] said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: 'Whoever sets out in the path of Allah and dies or is killed is a martyr, or if his horse or camel breaks his neck, or a scorpion stings him, or he dies on his bed, or by any death Allah wills, he is a martyr and for him is Paradise.'
