حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّةٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُسَلِّمُ الصَّغِيرُ عَلَى الْكَبِيرِ وَالْمَارُّ عَلَى الْقَاعِدِ وَالْقَلِيلُ عَلَى الْكَثِيرِحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَبِيبِ بْنِ عَرَبِيٍّ أَخْبَرَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي زِيَادٌ أَنَّ ثَابِتًا مَوْلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُسَلِّمُ الرَّاكِبُ عَلَى الْمَاشِي ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ

Narrated to us [Ahmad bin Hanbal], he said: narrated to us [Abdurrazaq], he said: informed us [Ma'mar] from [Hammam bin Munabbih] from [Abu Hurairah], he said: 'The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Let the younger give salam to the elder, the one riding to the one sitting, and the few to the many." Narrated to us [Yahya bin Habib bin Arabi], he said: informed us [Rauh], he said: narrated to us [Ibnu Juraij], he said: informed me [Ziyad], that [Tsabit]—a freed slave of 'Abdurrahman bin Zaid—informed him that he heard [Abu Hurairah] say: 'The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The one riding to the one walking…" and he mentioned the hadith.'"'
