Imam Nasa'i : 487
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى عَنْ يَحْيَى عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي عَلَى دَابَّتِهِ وَهُوَ مُقْبِلٌ مِنْ مَكَّةَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ وَفِيهِ أُنْزِلَتْ{ فَأَيْنَمَا تُوَلُّوا فَثَمَّ وَجْهُ اللَّهِ }
Narrated to us [Amr bin Ali] and [Muhammad bin Al Mutsanna] from [Yahya] from [Abdul Malik] he said :Narrated to us [Sa'id bin Jubair] from [Ibn Umar] he said : "In the past the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him prayed on his vehicle and he was going from Makkah to Madinah, and that's where the verse came down, 'So wherever you turn, that's where Allah's face is. Surely Allah is All-Encompassing (His mercy) and All-Knowing."
