Narrated by [Ali bin Muhammad], narrated by [Waki’], from [Hisyam, owner of Ad Dastuwa’i], from [Qatadah], from [Abu Aliyah], from [Ibnu Abbas], that when the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was in distress, he would say: 'La ilaha illallah Al Halim Al Karim, subhanallah rabbil arshil azim, subhanallah rabbis samawatis sab’i wa rabbil arshil karim (There is no god but Allah, the Forbearing, the Generous, Glory be to Allah, Lord of the Mighty Throne, Glory be to Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and Lord of the Noble Throne).' Waki’ said: 'Once he said: La ilaha illallah (There is no god but Allah), for it encompasses all.'
