Narrated to us [Al Hasan bin Ali Al Khallal], narrated to us [Sulaiman bin Daud Al Hasyimi], narrated to us [Abdur Rahman bin Abu Az Zinad] from [Musa bin 'Uqbah] from [Abdullah bin Al Fadhl] from [Abdur Rahman Al A'raj] from ['Ubaidullah bin Abu Rafi'] from [Ali bin Abu Thalib] from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, that when he rose for obligatory prayer, he raised his hands level with his shoulders, and did the same when he finished his recitation and intended to bow, and he did it when raising his head from bowing. And he did not raise his hands in his prayer while sitting. When standing from two prostrations he also raised his hands and said takbir. When opening the prayer after takbir he said: WAJJAHTU WAJHIYA LILLADZII FATHARAS SAMAAWAATI WAL ARDHA WA MAA ANA MINAL MUSYRIKIIN. INNA SHALAATII WA NUSUKII WA MAHYAAYA WA MAMAATII LILLAAHI RABBIL 'AALAMIINA LAA SYARIIKALAHU WA BIDZAALIKA UMIRTU WA ANA MINAL MUSLIMIIN. ALLAAHUMMA ANTAL MALIKU LAA ILAAHA ILLAA ANTA SUBHAANAKA, ANTA RABBII, WA ANA 'ABDUKA, ZHALAMTU NAFSII WA'TARAFTU BIDZANBII FAGHFIR LII DZUNUUBII JAMII'AN INNAHU LAA YAGHFIRUDZ DZUNUUBA ILLAA ANTA WAHDINII LIAHSANIL AKHLAAQI, LAA YAHDII LIAHSANIHAA ILLAA ANTA WASHRIF 'ANNII SAYYIAHAA, LAA YASHRIFU 'ANNII SAYYIAHAA ILLAA ANTA, LABBAIKA WA SA'DAIKA ANA BIKA WA ILAIKA WA LAA MANJAA WA LAA MALJA-A ILLAA ILAIKA. ASTAGHFIRUKA WA ATUUBU ILAIK. (I have turned my face to the One who originated the heavens and the earth, and I am not of the polytheists. Indeed my prayer, my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allah Lord of the worlds, no partner has He and with that I am commanded and I am of the Muslims. O Allah You are the King, there is no god except You, glorified are You, You are my Lord, and I am Your servant, I wronged myself and admitted my sin, so forgive all my sins indeed none forgives sins except You and guide me to the best of manners, none guides to its best except You and turn away from me its evil, none turns away from me its evil except You, I respond to Your call, I seek Your aid and refuge in You, and there is no refuge nor escape except to You. I seek Your forgiveness and repent to You). Then he recited the chapter and when bowing then his saying in bowing is: ALLAAHUMMA LAKA RAKA'TU WA BIKA AAMANTU, WA LAKA ASLAMTU, WA ANTA RABBII KHASYA'A SAM'II DARI WA BASHARII, WA MUKHKHII, WA 'AZHMII LILLAAHI RABBIL 'AALAMIIN." And when he raised his head from bowing he recited: "SAMI'ALLAHU LIMAN HAMIDAH." (Allah hears the one who praises Him). Then he followed with the saying: ALLAAHUMMA RABBANAA WALAKAL HAMDU MIL-AS SAMAAWAATI WAL ARDHI WA MIL-A MAA SYI`TA MIN SYAI-IN BA'DU " (O Allah our Lord and to You is praise filling the heavens and the earth and filling whatever You will after that). And when prostrating in his prostration he said: ALLAAHUMMA LAKA SAJADTU WA BIKA AAMANTU WA LAKA ASLAMTU, WA ANTA RABBII, SAJADA WAJHII LILLADZII KHALAQAHU WA SYAQQA SAM'AHU WA BASHARAHU, TABAARAKALLAAHU AHSANUL KHAALIQIIN " (O Allah to You I prostrate and in You I believe and to You I submit, and You are my Lord, my face prostrates to the One who created it and slit its hearing and sight, blessed is Allah the best of creators). And when turning from prayer he said: "ALLAAHUMMAGHFIR LII MAA QADDAMTU WA MAA AKHKHARTU WA MAA ASRARTU WA MAA A'LANTU, ANTA ILAAHII, LAA ILAAHA ILLAA ANTA." (O Allah forgive me what I sent ahead and what I left behind, what I concealed and what I declared. You are my God, there is no god except You). Abu Isa said: this hadith is hasan sahih. and this hadith is practiced according to the opinion of Asy Syafi'i and some of our companions, while Ahmad did not hold that opinion. Some scholars from the people of Kufah, and others held this is in voluntary prayer, and he did not recite it in voluntary prayer. I heard Abu Isma'il namely At Tirmidzi Muhammad bin Isma'il bin Yusuf say: I heard Sulaiman bin Daud Al Hasyimi say, and he also mentioned this hadith, and said: this according to us is like the hadith of Az Zuhri from Salim from his father."
