و حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ عَنْ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ سَمِعَ جَابِرًا يَسْأَلُ كَمْ كَانُوا يَوْمَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ قَالَ كُنَّا أَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ مِائَةً فَبَايَعْنَاهُ وَعُمَرُ آخِذٌ بِيَدِهِ تَحْتَ الشَّجَرَةِ وَهِيَ سَمُرَةٌ فَبَايَعْنَاهُ غَيْرَ جَدِّ بْنِ قَيْسٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ اخْتَبَأَ تَحْتَ بَطْنِ بَعِيرِهِ

Narrated to us [Muhammad bin Hatim], narrated to us [Hajjaj] from [Ibnu Juraij], informed me [Abu Az Zubair], that he heard [Jabir] ask, 'How many companions were at Hudaibiyyah?' He replied, 'We were one hundred fourteen, and we pledged allegiance to him. Umar held his hand under the Samurah tree, and we all pledged allegiance except Ja'd bin Qais Al Ansari, who hid under his camel’s belly.'
