حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَقَ قَالَكُنْتُ إِلَى جَنْبِ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ فَقِيلَ لَهُ كَمْ غَزَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ غَزْوَةٍ قَالَ تِسْعَ عَشْرَةَ فَقُلْتُ كَمْ غَزَوْتَ أَنْتَ مَعَهُ قَالَ سَبْعَ عَشْرَةَ قُلْتُ أَيَّتُهُنَّ كَانَ أَوَّلَ قَالَ ذَاتُ الْعُشَيْرِ أَوْ الْعُشَيْرَةِقَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ

Narrated to us [Mahmud bin Ghailan] said, narrated to us [Wahb bin Jarir] and [Abu Dawud Ath Thayalisi], both said: narrated to us [Syu'bah] from [Abu Ishaq], he said: 'I was with [Zaid bin Arqam], and he was asked: How many battles did the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, participate in?" He replied: "Nineteen." I asked him: "How many of his battles did you participate in?" He replied: "Seventeen." I asked again: "Which battle was the first you participated in?" He replied: "The Battle of Dzatul Usyaira or Dzatul Usyairah." Abu Isa said: 'This hadith is hasan sahih.'"
