Narrated to us [Ali bin Khasyram], informed us [Isa bin Yunus] from [Syu'bah] from [Qatadah], he said: I heard [Zurarah bin Aufa] narrate from [Imran bin Hushain], that a man bit another’s hand, and the one bitten pulled his hand away, causing the biter’s two front teeth to fall out. They brought their case to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and he said: 'One of you bites his brother like a camel bites (its companion) there is no diyah for you.' Then the verse was revealed: 'WAL JURUHA QISHAH' (and for wounds, there is retribution) (QS. Al-Maidah: 45). He said: In this matter, there is a similar hadith from Ya'la bin Umayyah and Salamah bin Umayyah, both brothers. Abu 'Isa said: The hadith of Imran bin Hushain is hasan sahih.
