حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ عَنْ قُرَّةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمَعَافِرِيِّ وَعَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ وَغَيْرِهِمَا أَنَّ عَامِرَ بْنَ يَحْيَى الْمَعَافِرِيَّ أَخْبَرَهُمْ عَنْ حَنَشٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ فَضَالَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ فِي غَزْوَةٍ فَطَارَتْ لِي وَلِأَصْحَابِي قِلَادَةٌ فِيهَا ذَهَبٌ وَوَرِقٌ وَجَوْهَرٌ فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَشْتَرِيَهَا فَسَأَلْتُ فَضَالَةَ بْنَ عُبَيْدٍ فَقَالَ انْزِعْ ذَهَبَهَا فَاجْعَلْهُ فِي كِفَّةٍ وَاجْعَلْ ذَهَبَكَ فِي كِفَّةٍ ثُمَّ لَا تَأْخُذَنَّ إِلَّا مِثْلًا بِمِثْلٍ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلَا يَأْخُذَنَّ إِلَّا مِثْلًا بِمِثْلٍ

Narrted to us by [Abu Thahir], informed us [Ibn Wahb] from [Qurrah bin Abdurrahman Al Ma'afiri] and ['Amru bin Harits] and others, that ['Amir bin Yahya Al Ma'afiri] informed them from [Hanas], he said: 'We were with [Fadlalah] in a battle, and my companion and I obtained a necklace with gold, silver, and jewels. I wanted to buy his share, so I asked Fadlalah bin 'Ubaid, and he said, "Separate the gold and place it on the scale, do the same with your gold, and do not take it unless the weight is equal, for I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: 'Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him not take gold unless it is of equal measure.'"'
