Sebab disyariatkannya raml: menampakkan kekuatan kaum muslimin di hadapan kaum musyrikin yang mengira mereka lemah karena demam
Imam Tirmidzi : 791حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَإِنَّمَا سَعَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْبَيْتِ وَبَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ لِيُرِيَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ قُوَّتَهُقَالَ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ عَائِشَةَ وَابْنِ عُمَرَ وَجَابِرٍ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى حَدِيثُ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَهُوَ الَّذِي يَسْتَحِبُّهُ أَهْلُ الْعِلْمِ أَنْ يَسْعَى بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَسْعَ وَمَشَى بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ رَأَوْهُ جَائِزًا
Narrated to us [Qutaibah] narrated to us [Sufyan bin 'Uyainah] from [Amru bin Dinar] from [Thawus] from [Ibnu Abbas] who said: 'The Messenger of Allah peace and blessings be upon him performed tawaf at the Ka'bah and between Safa and Marwah to show the polytheists his strength.' (Abu Isa At-Tirmidzi) said: 'A similar hadith is narrated from 'Aisyah, Ibnu Umar, and Jabir.' Abu 'Isa said: 'The hadith of Ibnu Abbas is hasan sahih and thus recommended by the scholars, that sa'i between Safa and Marwah is obligatory, but if he cannot trot then he only walks between them, they opine it is permissible.'
