حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ يَعْلَى بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَسَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْرَأُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ{ وَنَادَوْا يَا مَالِكُ }قَالَ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَجَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى حَدِيثُ يَعْلَى بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ وَهُوَ حَدِيثُ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ وَقَدْ اخْتَارَ قَوْمٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ أَنْ يَقْرَأَ الْإِمَامُ فِي الْخُطْبَةِ آيًا مِنْ الْقُرْآنِ قَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ وَإِذَا خَطَبَ الْإِمَامُ فَلَمْ يَقْرَأْ فِي خُطْبَتِهِ شَيْئًا مِنْ الْقُرْآنِ أَعَادَ الْخُطْبَةَ

Narrated to us [Qutaibah], narrated to us [Sufyan bin 'Uyainah] from [Amru bin Dinar] from [Atha'] from [Shafwan bin Ya'la bin 'Umaiyah] from [his father], he said, I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, recite on the pulpit "WANAADAU YAA MAALIKU". (Narrator) said, in this chapter (there is also narration from) from Abu Hurairah and Jabir bin Samrah. Abu Isa said, Ya'la bin 'Umaiyah's hadith is hasan sahih gharib hadith, it is the hadith of Ibnu Uyainah, some people of knowledge prefer that the imam recite a verse from the Qur'an in the khutbah. Imam Syafi'i said, if an imam gives khutbah, then does not recite a verse from the Qur'an in his khutbah, then he must repeat his khutbah.
