حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَعِيلَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ فِي تَفْسِيرِ حَدِيثِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَمَا خَلَقَ اللَّهُ مِنْ سَمَاءٍ وَلَا أَرْضٍ أَعْظَمَ مِنْ آيَةِ الْكُرْسِيِّ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ لِأَنَّ آيَةَ الْكُرْسِيِّ هُوَ كَلَامُ اللَّهِ وَكَلَامُ اللَّهِ أَعْظَمُ مِنْ خَلْقِ اللَّهِ مِنْ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ

Narrated to us [Muhammad bin Isma'il] he said : has told us [Al Humaidi] has told us [Sufyan bin 'Uyainah] about the interpretation of the hadith of Abdulah bin Mas'ud, he said : "Allah did not create the heavens and the earth greater than the verse of the chair." Sufyan said : "Because the verse of the chair is the word of Allah and the word of Allah is greater than Allah's creation such as the heavens and the earth."
