Narrated to us by Abu Bakar bin Abu Syaibah and Muhammad bin Basyar, both from Ghundar. Abu Bakr said: Muhammad bin Ja'far, namely Ghundar, narrated to us, from Shu'bah, from Yahya bin Zaid Al-Huna'i, who said: I asked Anas bin Malik about shortening the prayer. He replied: 'If the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went out three miles or three farsakhs—Shu'bah was unsure—he prayed two rak'ahs.'
