Narrated to us [Ahmad bin Mani‘] he said: narrated to us [‘Abdullah bin Al-Mubarak] he said: informed us [Yunus bin Yazid] from [Az-Zuhri] from [Sahl bin Sa‘d] from [Ubayy bin Ka‘b] he said: "Bathing due to emission was a concession at the beginning of Islam, then forbidden." Narrated to us [Ahmad bin Mani‘] he said: narrated to us [‘Abdullah bin Al-Mubarak] he said: informed us [Ma‘mar] from [Az-Zuhri] with this chain similarly. Abu Isa said: "This hadith is hasan sahih. Bathing due to emission was only early in Islam, then prohibited." Many narrated it from Companions, including Ubayy bin Ka‘b and Rafi‘ bin Khudayj. Many scholars act upon it: if a man penetrates his wife, bathing is obligatory even without emission.
