حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَيْرُ صُفُوفِ الرِّجَالِ أَوَّلُهَا وَشَرُّهَا آخِرُهَا وَخَيْرُ صُفُوفِ النِّسَاءِ آخِرُهَا وَشَرُّهَا أَوَّلُهَاقَالَ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ جَابِرٍ وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَأَبِي سَعِيدٍ وَأُبَيٍّ وَعَائِشَةَ وَالْعِرْبَاضِ بْنِ سَارِيَةَ وَأَنَسٍ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى حَدِيثُ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَسْتَغْفِرُ لِلصَّفِّ الْأَوَّلِ ثَلَاثًا وَلِلثَّانِي مَرَّةً

Narrated to us [Qutaibah], he said: narrated to us [Abdul Aziz bin Muhammad] from [Suhail bin Abu Shalih] from [his father] from [Abu Hurairah], he said: "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'The best rows for men in prayer are the front ones and the worst are the last. And the best rows for women in prayer are the back ones and the worst are the front ones.'" He said: "In this chapter there are also narrations from Jabir, Ibnu Abbas, Abu Sa'id, Ubai, 'Aisyah, Irbadl bin Sariyah and Anas." Abu Isa said: "The hadith of Abu Hurairah is hasan sahih. And it has been narrated that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, sought forgiveness for the people in the first row three times, and the second row twice."
