حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ الْبَرَاءِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَكُنَّا يَوْمَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ أَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ مِائَةً وَالْحُدَيْبِيَةُ بِئْرٌ فَنَزَحْنَاهَا حَتَّى لَمْ نَتْرُكْ فِيهَا قَطْرَةً فَجَلَسَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى شَفِيرِ الْبِئْرِ فَدَعَا بِمَاءٍ فَمَضْمَضَ وَمَجَّ فِي الْبِئْرِ فَمَكَثْنَا غَيْرَ بَعِيدٍ ثُمَّ اسْتَقَيْنَا حَتَّى رَوِينَا وَرَوَتْ أَوْ صَدَرَتْ رَكَائِبُنَا

Narrated to us [Malik bin Isma'il] narrated to us [Isra'il] from [Abu Ishaq] from [Al Bara', may Allah be pleased with him] who said, "On the day of Hudaibiyah, we were fourteen hundred people, and Hudaibiyah was a well. We drew water from it until not a drop remained. The Prophet, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, sat at the edge of the well, prayed for water, rinsed his mouth, and spat into the well. We waited a short while, then we drank until we were satisfied, and our mounts also drank to their fill.
