حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ النَّضْرِ بْنِ أَبِي النَّضْرِ حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنَا نَافِعٌ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَكَانَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ حِينَ قَدِمُوا الْمَدِينَةَ يَجْتَمِعُونَ فَيَتَحَيَّنُونَ الصَّلَوَاتِ وَلَيْسَ يُنَادِي بِهَا أَحَدٌ فَتَكَلَّمُوا يَوْمًا فِي ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ اتَّخِذُوا نَاقُوسًا مِثْلَ نَاقُوسِ النَّصَارَى وَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ اتَّخِذُوا قَرْنًا مِثْلَ قَرْنِ الْيَهُودِ قَالَ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ أَوَلَا تَبْعَثُونَ رَجُلًا يُنَادِي بِالصَّلَاةِ قَالَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَا بِلَالُ قُمْ فَنَادِ بِالصَّلَاةِقَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ

Narrated to us [Abu Bakr bin An Nadlr bin Abu An Nadlr] he said: narrated to us [Hajjaj bin Muhammad] he said: [Ibnu Jurair] said: informed us [Nafi'] from [Ibnu Umar] he said: "When the Muslims came to Madinah they gathered awaiting prayer with no caller. One day they discussed some said 'Use a bell like the Christians' others 'Use a horn like the Jews.' Ibnu Umar said: ''Umar said: 'Why not send a man to call to prayer?' The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'O Bilal stand and call to prayer.''" Abu Isa said: "This hadith is hasan sahih gharib from Ibnu Umar's hadith."
