حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ حَدَّثَنَا بُرَيْدَةُ عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَىعَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ فِي الْمَنَامِ أَنِّي أُهَاجِرُ مِنْ مَكَّةَ إِلَى أَرْضٍ بِهَا نَخْلٌ فَذَهَبَ وَهَلِي إِلَى أَنَّهَا يَمَامَةُ أَوْ هَجَرٌ فَإِذَا هِيَ الْمَدِينَةُ يَثْرِبُ وَرَأَيْتُ فِي رُؤْيَايَ هَذِهِ أَنِّي هَزَزْتُ سَيْفًا فَانْقَطَعَ صَدْرُهُ فَإِذَا هُوَ مَا أُصِيبَ مِنْ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ ثُمَّ هَزَزْتُهُ فَعَادَ أَحْسَنَ مَا كَانَ فَإِذَا هُوَ مَا جَاءَ اللَّهُ بِهِ مِنْ الْفَتْحِ وَاجْتِمَاعِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَرَأَيْتُ فِيهَا أَيْضًا بَقَرًا وَاللَّهُ خَيْرٌ فَإِذَا هُمْ النَّفَرُ مِنْ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ وَإِذَا الْخَيْرُ مَا جَاءَ اللَّهُ بِهِ مِنْ الْخَيْرِ بَعْدُ وَثَوَابِ الصِّدْقِ الَّذِي آتَانَا اللَّهُ بِهِ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ

Narrated by [Mahmud bin Ghailan], narrated by [Abu Usamah], narrated by [Buraidah] from [Abu Burdah] from [Abu Musa], from the Prophet (peace be upon him), he said: 'I dreamt I migrated from Makkah to a land with date palms, thinking it was Yamamah or Hajar, but it was Madinah, Yathrib. I saw myself swinging a sword, its blade breaking—representing the believers’ affliction at Uhud. I swung it again, and it became better than before—signifying Allah’s victory and the believers’ unity. I also saw cows, and Allah is good—representing a group of believers at Uhud, and the goodness Allah brought thereafter, rewarding our sincerity at Badr.'
