حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ عَنْ الْمَسْعُودِيِّ عَنْ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ الْعَيْزَارِ عَنْ أَبِي عَمْرٍو الشَّيْبَانِيِّ عَنْ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَسَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ الصَّلَاةُ لِمِيقَاتِهَا قُلْتُ ثُمَّ مَاذَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ بِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ قُلْتُ ثُمَّ مَاذَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ سَكَتَ عَنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَلَوْ اسْتَزَدْتُهُ لَزَادَنِيقَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَأَبُو عَمْرٍو الشَّيْبَانِيُّ اسْمُهُ سَعْدُ بْنُ إِيَاسٍ وَهُوَ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ رَوَاهُ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ وَشُعْبَةُ وَغَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ عَنْ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ الْعَيْزَارِ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ مِنْ غَيْرِ وَجْهٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَمْرٍو الشَّيْبَانِيِّ عَنْ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ

Narrated to us [Ahmad bin Muhammad], informed us [Abdullah bin Mubarak] from [Al Mas'udi] from [Al Walid bin Al 'Aizar] from [Abi Amru Asy Syaibani] from [Ibnu Mas'ud], he said: I asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, 'O Messenger of Allah, what is the most noble deed?' He replied: 'Prayer at its proper time.' I asked again, 'Then what, O Messenger of Allah?' He replied: 'Then being dutiful to parents.' I asked again, 'Then what, O Messenger of Allah?' He replied: 'Then jihad in the way of Allah.' Then the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, paused, and if I had asked again, he would have answered. Abu Isa said: Abi Amr Asy Syaibani’s name is Sa'd bin Iyas. This is a hasan sahih hadith, and it was also narrated by [Asy Syaibani], [Syu'bah], and more than one narrator from [Al Walid bin Al Aizar]. This hadith was also narrated through more than one chain from Abi Amr Asy Syaibani from Ibnu Mas'ud.
