Narrated to us [Abu Ja'far Muhammad bin Al Husain bin Abu Halimah] from the region of Qahsril Ahnaf, and [Ahmad bin 'Abdah Adl Dlabbi] and [Ali bin Hujr] while (their narration) similar in meaning, they said: narrated to us [Isa bin Yunus], narrated to us [Umar bin Abdullah] former slave (freed by) Ghufrah, narrated to me [Ibrahim bin Muhammad] -one of the children of Ali bin Abu Thalib- he said: When [Ali may Allah be pleased with him] described the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, he said: He was a person neither too tall nor too short, medium build, his hair neither stiff nor curly, his hair thick, not fat nor thin, his face slightly round, his eyes very black, his eyelashes long, his main joints large, his shoulders broad, his chest hair soft, no hair on body, his feet thick, when walking as if walking on a downhill path, when turning his whole body turned, between his shoulders there was the seal of prophethood namely the seal of the prophets, his palms beautiful, his chest broad, the most truthful in speech, the gentlest in character, the noblest in association, whoever suddenly saw him would respect him, whoever associated with him would love him." He continued: "I have never seen anyone like him before or after." Abu Isa said: "This hadith is hasan gharib, and its isnad is not connected. Abu Ja'far said: 'I heard Al Ashma'i say in his interpretation of the personality of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, namely: long (his hair) hanging down, and I heard a bedouin say: Very long means tall long, while short build means some (of his body parts) very short, curly means (his hair) very curly (frizzy) like someone whose hair is wavy meaning bent, while 'Al Muthahham' means much flesh, Al Mukaltsam means round face (oval), and Al Musyrab means as if on his forehead there is a slightly reddish color, while black eyes means (the pupil) black, al Ahdab means long eyelashes, Al Katadu means broad shoulders, which (in front) his chest has hair namely very soft chest hair in the area between chest to navel, and Syatsnu means thick palms and feet, At Taqallu' means walking with full strength, and Ash Shabab means downhill place like the sentence: 'inhadarnaa fie shabuubin wa shababin' meaning: 'we walked in a downhill area.' While his statement: 'Large base bone, meaning the main joint bones.' Al 'Isyrah is As Shuhbah (association) while Al 'Asyir is Ash Shahib (friend) and Al Badihah is Al Mufaja`ah (suddenly), example: 'Badahtu bi amrin' meaning: I did something to him suddenly."
