حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو جَمْرَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَإِنَّ وَفْدَ عَبْدِ الْقَيْسِ لَمَّا قَدِمُوا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَهُمْ بِالْإِيمَانِ بِاللَّهِ قَالَ أَتَدْرُونَ مَا الْإِيمَانُ بِاللَّهِ قَالُوا اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ شَهَادَةُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ وَإِقَامُ الصَّلَاةِ وَإِيتَاءُ الزَّكَاةِ وَصَوْمُ رَمَضَانَ وَأَنْ تُعْطُوا الْخُمْسَ مِنْ الْمَغْنَمِ

Narrated to us by Ahmad bin Hanbal, he said: Narrated to me by Yahya bin Sa'id from Syu'bah, he said: Narrated to me by Abu Hamzah, he said: I heard Ibnu Abbas say: 'When the delegation of Abdu Qais came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, he commanded them to believe in Allah. He asked: 'Do you know what faith in Allah means?' The companions replied: 'Allah and His Messenger know best.' He said: 'Testifying that there is no god worthy of worship except Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, performing prayer, paying zakat, fasting Ramadan, and giving one-fifth of the spoils.'
