Narrated to us [Hannad bin As Sari], he said: narrated to us [Abdurrahman bin Abu Az Zinad] from [Abdurrahman bin Al Harits bin Ayyasy bin Abu Rabi'ah] from [Hakim bin Hakim] – that is Ibnu Abbad bin Hunaif –, he said: informed me [Nafi' bin Jubair bin Muth'im], he said: informed me [Ibnu Abbas] that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Jibril (peace be upon him) led me in prayer twice at the Ka'bah. First: Zuhr when the shadow was like a sandal-strap: Asr when every shadow equalled its object: Maghrib when the sun set and the fasting person breaks: Isha when the red twilight vanished: Subuh when dawn rose and food became forbidden for the fasting. Second time: Zuhr when every shadow equalled its object – exactly yesterday's Asr time: Asr when every shadow was twice its object: Maghrib as before: late Isha after one-third of the night: Subuh when the earth brightened. Then Jibril turned to me and said: 'O Muhammad, this is the timing of the Prophets before you: prayer is between these two times.'" Abu Isa said: "In this chapter there are narrations from Abu Hurairah, Buraidah, Abu Musa, Abu Mas'ud Al Anshari, Abu Sa'id, Jabir, 'Amru bin Hazm, Al Bara and Anas." Informed me [Ahmad bin Musa], he said: informed us [Abdullah bin Al Mubarak], he said: informed us [Husain bin Ali bin Husain], he said: informed me [Wahb bin Kaisan] from [Jabir bin Abdullah] from The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him): "Jibril led me…" – then he mentioned the like of Ibn Abbas' hadith in meaning, but did not mention "for yesterday's Asr." Abu Isa said: "This hadith is hasan sahih gharib. Ibn Abbas' hadith is hasan sahih. Muhammad said: 'The soundest report on prayer times is Jabir's from the Prophet (peace be upon him).' Jabir's hadith on prayer times is narrated by ['Atha bin Abu Rabah], [Amru bin Dinar] and [Abu Az Zubair] from [Jabir bin Abdullah] from the Prophet (peace be upon him) like Wahb bin Kaisan's narration from Jabir from the Prophet (peace be upon him)."
