حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ أَنَّ أَبَا السَّائِبِ مَوْلَى هِشَامِ بْنِ زُهْرَةَ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ صَلَّى صَلَاةً لَمْ يَقْرَأْ فِيهَا بِأُمِّ الْقُرْآنِ فَهِيَ خِدَاجٌ هِيَ خِدَاجٌ غَيْرُ تَمَامٍ قَالَ أَبُو السَّائِبِ لِأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ إِنِّي أَكُونُ أَحْيَانًا وَرَاءَ الْإِمَامِ قَالَ أَبُو السَّائِبِ فَغَمَزَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ذِرَاعِي فَقَالَ يَا فَارِسِيُّ اقْرَأْهَا فِي نَفْسِكَ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَسَمْتُ الصَّلَاةَ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ عَبْدِي نِصْفَيْنِ فَنِصْفُهَا لِي وَنِصْفُهَا لِعَبْدِي وَلِعَبْدِي مَا سَأَلَ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اقْرَءُوا يَقُولُ فَيَقُولُ الْعَبْدُ { الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ } فَيَقُولُ اللَّهُ حَمِدَنِي عَبْدِي وَيَقُولُ الْعَبْدُ { الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ } فَيَقُولُ اللَّهُ أَثْنَى عَلَيَّ عَبْدِي فَيَقُولُ الْعَبْدُ { مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ } فَيَقُولُ اللَّهُ مَجَّدَنِي عَبْدِي وَقَالَ هَذِهِ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ عَبْدِي يَقُولُ الْعَبْدُ { إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ } قَالَ أَجِدُهَا لِعَبْدِي وَلِعَبْدِي مَا سَأَلَ قَالَ يَقُولُ عَبْدِي { اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ } يَقُولُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ هَذَا لِعَبْدِي وَلِعَبْدِي مَا سَأَلَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَا كُلٌّ مِنْهُمَا مَوْلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ هِشَامِ بْنِ زُهْرَةَ وَقَالَا { مَالِكِ } وَقَالَ ابْنُ بَكْرٍ يَقُولُ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اقْرَءُوا يَقُومُ الْعَبْدُ فَيَقُولُ قَالَ و حَدَّثَنَاه يَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ وَحَدَّثَنِي الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ مَوْلَى الْحُرَقَةِ عَنْ أَبِي السَّائِبِ مَوْلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زُهْرَةَ التَّيْمِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ

Narrated to us [Abdurrazzaq]: [Ibn Juraij] said: has informed me [Al 'Ala` bin Abdurrahman bin Ya'qub] that [Abu As Sa`ib] -Hisham bin Zuhroh's servant- has told him that he heard [Abu Hurairah] say: Rasulullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wa Salam said: "Whoever performs prayer and does not recite the Ummul Qur'an (Al Fatiha) in it is deficient, deficient and imperfect." Abu As Sa`ib said to Abu Hurairah, "Indeed I sometimes read and sometimes not when behind the imam." Abu As Sa`ib said: So Abu Hurairah touched my arm and said: "O faris, read it in your heart, verily I heard Rasulullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wa Salam say: "Allah The Mighty and Majestic said: verily I divided the prayer into two parts, one part for Me and another part for My servant for what he asked for." Abu Hurairah said: Rasulullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wa Salam said: "Read," he said: "so the servant said: 'Al HAMDULILLAHI RABBIL `AALAMIIN (Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds),' then Allah said: 'My servant has praised Me.' servant said: 'AR RAHMAANIRRAHIIM (the most merciful, the most merciful),' then Allah said: 'My servant has praised Me.' servant said: 'MAALIKI YAUMIDDIIN (Who controls the Day of Judgment),' then Allah said: 'My servant has glorified Me,' Then Allah said: 'This is between Me and My servant.' Servant said: 'IYYAAKA NA'BUDU WA IYYAAKA NASTA'IIN (You alone do we worship, and it is You alone that we ask for help),' Allah says: 'I found it for My servant and My servant will get what he asks for.' Allah says: 'My servant said: 'IHDINASH SHIRAATHAL MUSTAQIIM SHIRAATHAL LADZIINA AN'AMTA 'ALAIHIM GHOIRIL MAGHDLUUBI 'ALAIHIM WALADL DLAALIIN (Show us the straight path, (namely) the path of those on whom You have blessed, not (the path of) those who are angry and not (nor the path of) those who are astray).' Allah The Mighty and Majestic says: 'This is for My servant and he will get what he asks for." It was told to us [Muhammad bin Bakr] and [Muhammad bin Abdullah Al Anshori] from [Ibn Juraij], they said: they were both servants of Abdullah bin Hisham bin Zuhroh. And Malik said: and said [Ibn Bakr]: [Abu Hurairah] said: Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wa Salam said: ""Read: a servant stood up then said." Said (narrator): and has related it to us [Ja`qub] said, has related it to us [my father] from [Ibn Ishaq] said: and told me about [Al 'Ala` bin Abdurrahman bin Ya`qub] servant of the Huraqah tribe, from [Ibn As Sa`ib] servant of Abdullah bin Zuhrah At Taimi, from [Abu Hurairah] then he mentioned this hadith.
