Narrated to us [Qutaibah] he said: narrated to us [Al-Laits] from [Ibnu Syihab] from ['Urwah] from ['Aisyah] that she said: "Ummu Habibah binti Jahsy sought a ruling from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him): she said: 'I have istihadlah and am never pure: must I abandon prayer?' He replied: 'No, that is only a vein's blood: bathe and pray.' So Ummu Habibah used to bathe for every prayer." Qutaibah said: "Al-Laits said: 'Ibnu Syihab did not mention that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) commanded Ummu Habibah to bathe for every prayer: rather, she did it herself.'" Abu Isa said: "This hadith is also narrated from Az-Zuhri, from 'Amrah, from 'Aisyah: she said: 'Ummu Habibah binti Jahsy sought a ruling from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him).' Some scholars say a mustahadlah should bathe for every prayer." [Al-Awza'i] narrated from [Az-Zuhri] from ['Urwah] and ['Amrah] from ['Aisyah].
