Narrated to us 'Abdul Malik bin Syu'aib bin Al Laits, narrated to me my father from my grandfather, narrated to us Khalid bin Yazid from Sa'id bin Abu Hilal from Zaid bin Aslam from 'Atha bin Yasar from Abu Sa'id Al Khudri from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: "On the Day of Resurrection, the earth will be like a single loaf of bread that Allah will flatten with His hand until it is balanced, like the bread one of you flattens on a journey, as a feast for the inhabitants of Paradise. Then a Jewish man came and said to him: 'May Allah bless you, O Abu Qasim,' he said to him: 'Would you like me to tell you about the feast of the inhabitants of Paradise on the Day of Resurrection?' He replied: 'Yes.' He said: 'The earth will be a single loaf of bread'—as the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said. Then the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, looked at us and laughed until his front teeth were visible. He asked: 'Would you like me to tell you about their side dishes?' He replied: 'Their side dishes are balam (in Hebrew) and nun.' The companions asked: 'What are those?' He replied: 'A bull and a fish, the best part of whose liver will be eaten by seventy thousand inhabitants of Paradise who enter without reckoning.'"
