Narrated to us [Hannad], narrated to us [Waki'] from [Musa bin Ali bin Rabah] from [his father] from [Uqbah bin 'Amir Al Juhani] said; 'Three times the Messenger of Allah , peace and blessings be upon him forbade us to pray or bury our deceased: when the sun rises until it ascends a spear's length, when it is at zenith until it declines a bit, and when the sun is about to set until it sets.' Abu Isa said; 'This is a hasan sahih hadith. It is practiced by some scholars from the companions of the Prophet , peace and blessings be upon him and others. They disliked funeral prayer at those times. Ibn Mubarak said; 'The meaning of the hadith is burying those who died among us, meaning the funeral prayer.' He disliked funeral prayer when the sun rises, when it sets, and at midday until the sun declines. This is also the opinion of Ahmad and Ishaq. Ash-Syafi'i said; 'There is no problem performing funeral prayer at disliked times for prayer.'
