حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ يُونُسَ حَدَّثَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ قَالَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا وَلِيَ أَحَدُكُمْ أَخَاهُ فَلْيُحْسِنْ كَفَنَهُوَفِيهِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ و قَالَ ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ قَالَ سَلَّامُ بْنُ أَبِي مُطِيعٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ وَلْيُحْسِنْ أَحَدُكُمْ كَفَنَ أَخِيهِ قَالَ هُوَ الصَّفَاءُ وَلَيْسَ بِالْمُرْتَفِعِ

Narrated to us [Muhammad bin Basyar], narrated to us [Umar bin Yunus], narrated to us [Ikrimah bin 'Ammar] from [Hisyam bin Hassan] from [Muhammad bin Sirrin] from [Abu Qatadah] who said: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'If one of you takes care of his brother, let him give him a good shroud.' A similar Hadith is narrated from Jabir. Abu 'Isa said: 'This is a hasan gharib Hadith. Ibnu Al Mubarak said: Sallam bin Abu Muthi' said: regarding the words, Let him make good the shroud of his brother meaning, a clean shroud not an expensive shroud.'
