حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَمَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ حَدَّثَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ اللَّيْثِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَسُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَيُّ النَّاسِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ رَجُلٌ يُجَاهِدُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ قَالُوا ثُمَّ مَنْ قَالَ ثُمَّ مُؤْمِنٌ فِي شِعْبٍ مِنْ الشِّعَابِ يَتَّقِي رَبَّهُ وَيَدَعُ النَّاسَ مِنْ شَرِّهِقَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ

Narrated to us [Abu Ammar] said, narrated to us [Al Walid bin Muslim] from [Al Auza'i] said, narrated to us [Az Zuhri] from [Atha bin Yazid Al Laitsi] from [Abu Sa'id Al Khudri], he said: 'The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was asked: Who is the most virtuous of people?" He replied: "A man who strives in the way of Allah." The companions asked: "Then who?" He replied: "A believer who is in a valley, worshiping Allah and keeping people safe from his harm." Abu Isa said: 'This hadith is hasan sahih.'"
