حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ الْحِمْصِيُّ وَحَبِيبُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ جَابِرٍ الطَّائِيِّ عَنْ مِقْدَامِ بْنِ مَعْدِي كَرِبَ قَالَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَا مَلَأَ آدَمِيٌّ وِعَاءً شَرًّا مِنْ بَطْنٍ بِحَسْبِ ابْنِ آدَمَ أُكُلَاتٌ يُقِمْنَ صُلْبَهُ فَإِنْ كَانَ لَا مَحَالَةَ فَثُلُثٌ لِطَعَامِهِ وَثُلُثٌ لِشَرَابِهِ وَثُلُثٌ لِنَفَسِهِحَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَرَفَةَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ نَحْوَهُ و قَالَ الْمِقْدَامُ بْنُ مَعْدِي كَرِبَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ فِيهِ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ

Narrated to us [Suwaid bin Nasr] has told us [Abdullah bin Al Mubarak] has told us [Isma'il bin 'Ayyasy] has told me [Abu Salamah Al Himshi] and [Habib bin Salih] from [Yahya bin Jabir Ath Tho`i] from [Miqdam bin Ma'dikarib] said: I heard Rasulullahpeace be upon him say: "Man does not fill a bad vessel beyond his stomach, a few mouthfuls are enough for man to straighten his spine, if not then a third goes to his food, a third to his drink and a third to his breath." Narrated to us [Al Hasan bin 'Arafah] has told us [Isma'il bin 'Ayyasy] It seems and said Al Miqdam bin Ma'dikarib from the Prophetpeace be upon him but in it he did not mention: I heard the prophetpeace be upon him. Abu Isa said: This hadith is hasan sahih .
