حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ مَرْثَدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْيَزَنِيِّ عَنْ دَيْلَمٍ الْحِمْيَرِيِّ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا بِأَرْضٍ بَارِدَةٍ نُعَالِجُ بِهَا عَمَلًا شَدِيدًا وَإِنَّا نَتَّخِذُ شَرَابًا مِنْ هَذَا الْقَمْحِ نَتَقَوَّى بِهِ عَلَى أَعْمَالِنَا وَعَلَى بَرْدِ بِلَادِنَا قَالَ هَلْ يُسْكِرُ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَاجْتَنِبُوهُ قَالَ ثُمَّ جِئْتُ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ هَلْ يُسْكِرُ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَاجْتَنِبُوهُ قُلْتُ إِنَّ النَّاسَ غَيْرُ تَارِكِيهِ قَالَ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَتْرُكُوهُ فَاقْتُلُوهُمْ

Narrated to us [Muhammad bin Ubaid] Narrated to us [Muhamamd bin Ishaq] from [Yazid bin Abu Habib] from [Martsad bin Abdullah Al Yazani] from [Dailam Al Himyari] he said, "I once asked The Messenger of Allah peace and blessings be upon him, I said, "O The Messenger of Allah, indeed we are in a very cold place, and doing very heavy work in it. So we took this wheat drink as a supplement for our work and (to withstand) the cold of our residence." He asked: "Is it intoxicating?" I answered, "Yes." He said: "Avoid that drink." Then I approached him from the front and asked him the same thing again. He said: "Is it intoxicating?" leave it." He said: "If they do not leave it, then kill them.
