حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سُوقَةَ عَنْ مُنْذِرٍ عَنْ ابْنِ الْحَنَفِيَّةِ قَالَلَوْ كَانَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ذَاكِرًا عُثْمَانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ذَكَرَهُ يَوْمَ جَاءَهُ نَاسٌ فَشَكَوْا سُعَاةَ عُثْمَانَ فَقَالَ لِي عَلِيٌّ اذْهَبْ إِلَى عُثْمَانَ فَأَخْبِرْهُ أَنَّهَا صَدَقَةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَمُرْ سُعَاتَكَ يَعْمَلُونَ فِيهَا فَأَتَيْتُهُ بِهَا فَقَالَ أَغْنِهَا عَنَّا فَأَتَيْتُ بِهَا عَلِيًّا فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ فَقَالَ ضَعْهَا حَيْثُ أَخَذْتَهَاقَالَ الْحُمَيْدِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُوقَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُنْذِرًا الثَّوْرِيَّ عَنْ ابْنِ الْحَنَفِيَّةِ قَالَ أَرْسَلَنِي أَبِي خُذْ هَذَا الْكِتَابَ فَاذْهَبْ بِهِ إِلَى عُثْمَانَ فَإِنَّ فِيهِ أَمْرَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الصَّدَقَةِ

Narrated to us [Qutaibah bin Sa'id] narrated to us [Sufyan] from [Muhammad bin Suwqah] from [Mundzir] from [Ibnu Al HaNafi,yah] said: 'If 'Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, remembered 'Uthman, may Allah be pleased with him, he recalled him when people came complaining about the conduct of 'Uthman?s zakat collectors. 'Ali Sa'dto me: "Go to 'Uthman and inform him that it is the charity of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and order your collectors to act accordingly." I went to him with this message, and 'Uthman said: "Keep that charity away from us." I returned to 'Ali with the charity meant for 'Uthman and told him, and he said: "Leave the charity where you took it from." [Al Humaidiy] Sa'd narrated to us [Sufyan] narrated to us [Muhammad bin Suwqah] said: I heard [Mundzir Ats-Tsauriy] from [Ibnu Al HaNafi,yah] said: "My father sent me, saying: 'Take this letter and bring it to 'Uthman, for it contains the Prophet?s orders, peace and blessings be upon him, regarding charity.'
